Stock token and stock perpetual fees compared

Trading the same stock can cost several times more on one venue than another. The table lists base fees for stock tokens (spot) and stock perpetuals by venue: venues with a public fee feed use the per-market data we collect live, and the others show what their official documentation confirms, with a link to their fee page.

As of this update, MEXC has 6 stock perpetuals with zero taker fees, more than any other venue.

How to read this table

  • A maker order rests on the order book until someone fills it; a taker order fills immediately. Taker fees are usually higher, and a negative maker fee means the venue pays a rebate.
  • These are base (regular user) fees. Higher volume, holding the venue's token or promotions can lower them, and some venues run limited-time zero-fee offers on particular stock contracts.
  • The $1,000 round trip assumes taker fees on both opening and closing: 2 × 1,000 × the taker fee.
  • Fees come from each exchange's public feed market by market and update with our next collection after a change; the official fee page is the final reference.

Costs beyond trading fees

  • For stock tokens, the premium and bid-ask spread are often larger than the fee: the same stock's tokens can differ by a few tenths of a percent across venues, so sort the stock page by premium before buying.
  • Perpetuals also charge funding: a week of funding can exceed the round-trip trading fee. Estimate it with the funding calculator. Funding rate calculator →
  • Deposits, withdrawals and on-chain transfers add network and withdrawal fees to the total.

Frequently asked questions

Which venue has the lowest fees for stock perpetuals?

On published base rates, the lowest stock perpetual taker fee is currently on MEXC (0% maker, 0.02% taker). Real costs also depend on price, spread and funding; the table comes from exchanges' public feeds and updates automatically when rates change.

Are stock token fees the same as for ordinary crypto?

Not always. Some venues set separate rates or promotions for stock tokens; for example, Binance's bStocks spot page shows 0 maker fees. Rely on the trading page and the official fee page.

Are there fees for swapping stock tokens on-chain?

On-chain swaps on Solana and other chains have no exchange fee, but you pay network fees, aggregator quotes already include pool fees, and large swaps face price impact and slippage.

Market data comes from each venue's public feeds and is for reference only, not investment advice. Stock tokens and stock perpetuals are volatile and high risk, and some venues or products are unavailable in certain countries and regions. Check local rules and the venue's terms before trading.
